The book was pretty good. It surprised me that the boys would have actually go after Ralph and try and kill him. the fact that the boys turned "savage" so fast really made me wonder how civilized they really where to begin with. I wonder what would have happened to the boys when they got back home, would they even make it home or would they be sent back to the military camp for killing people.

lord of the flies *chapter 6-8*
In these chapters a parachutist crashes on the and casts weird shadows in the light of the fire, he is dead, the twins see the shadows and get scared, they run back to the shelters to tell Ralph about what they think was the monster. Ralph, Simon and Jack go up the mountain with the choir boys to hunt the beast, they end up rolling rocks down the mountain, and pretending to hunt Roger. They boys also hurt Rodger when they are 'hunting' him. Ralph trys to get the boys back on track but some of them want go back to piggy. Ralph,Jack and Simon keep going up to find the beast and the rest go back to camp. Simon wanders of on his own again to to see the monster when he runs in to the sows head that jack but of a spear, it"tells" Simon that he will never escape and to think that the best isn't really is stupid, hes just a stupid little boy that not one listens to.
it surprised me when Simon was 'talking' to the pigs head. I didn't under stand it at first but now that i read a little more i get it. The fact that the Simon was having an episode and the sow was talking to him would have scared the crap out of me, and to hear it say I'm just a stupid little boy would prob crush my spirit more then it already was. After hearing that depressing speech from the sow which basically tells Simon he is the 'beast' (the sow) and that he cant escape him id prob give up on trying to convince people the beast isn't really and let them think there is it would have been allot easier.

Lord of the Flies *Chapters 1-5*
This book is about a group of boys who get stranded on an island when returning home from a military school. It starts of With Ralph a fair-haired boy who is very athletic, and is elected "in charge" of the boys. Then we meet Piggy a larger boy who has a strong input in to the group but no one really listens to him. We also meet two choir boys named jack and Simon, Jack is very opinionated and wants to be in charge, Ralph put him in charge of hunting tho so he wouldn't complain. Simon is a very small boy who is quiet and seems to be shy, He often wanders off to his 'special place' near the lagoon.
So far this book is very interesting, Its a lot better then the movie as well. Simon is a very complicated person with lots of interests and a very interesting personality, which makes him one of my favorite characters in the story. It surprised me that he was actually shy, and that he would go of to his 'special place'. Its also surprised me how smart he was, i just figured that he would be an average boy but hes actually pretty smart.
